ON A BUDGET
Here are some cheap activities that are enjoyable for the kids without breaking the bank!
EXPLORE THE PARK
Set up some activities, have a picnic, kick around a soccer ball, play a game of cricket or just go for a walk.
VISIT THE LIBRARY
In addition to having thousands of new books to borrow, the library often hosts' story time, cooking lessons and other workshops where anyone can participate. Check out the libraries noticeboard and book into the activities you wish to attend.
WATCH A MOVIE
Movies are a great activity for the whole family, however sometimes they can be expensive. Look out for cheap Tuesday where movie prices are considerably less and save money by bringing your own snacks from home. Also check out your local council or newspapers for free showings in parks and council halls for kids during school holidays.
GO FOR A SWIM
Head to your nearest public pool, river or beach and jump in! Pack a lunch from home to save some money. Remember to always make sure appropriate lifeguards are on duty.
RIDE YOUR BIKES
There are many bike tracks where you hire bikes cheaply or bring your own.
FEED THE DUCKS
Got some old bread lying around? Head to a local creek and let the kids feed the ducks.
FLY A KITE
